Ryan Sias reading & art project @ WORD – Brooklyn

On saturday I had the privilege of doing a reading and art project at the awesome independent book store WORD in Greenpoint brooklyn!

I did a reading of Zoe and Robot – Let’s Pretend, then we did some art!

Since it’s close to halloween I made ROBOT masks for them to color and wear.

Rainbow robot!

Awesome green radioactive robot!

Nice coloring!

I also created this comic page, where they get to finish the last panel. They can show what Zoe and Robot are pretending to do. In this one they have climbed a mountain!

This amazing one it Zoe and Robot as the Mario brothers!

It was super fun afternoon, all the kids loved it had fun coloring! Thanks WORD, you are an amazing book store! If you are even in the neighbor hood go support them!

Zoe and Robot at the Princeton book festival!

I had the privilege of selling books at the Princeton Book festival this year. It was one of the best festival i’ve done this fall, and we had rain! I got to wear my brand new Robot hat and there was a lot of foot traffic! A good combo for selling books!

There we so many awesome authors sitting right around me!

Kat Yeh sold out of her “The Magic Brush” book! (thats the stand the last book was on-WAY TO GO KAT!)

Dave Gordon did a drawing and read his super fun book Smitten!

The amazing Dan Yaccarino had a stack of book, but his new book is “All the way to America”\

My fellow Robot  author Ame Dyckman was their to give support. Her Robot book “Boy + Bot” comes out next year!

Then is started to rain, so we all had to huddle in the middle of the tent with our books.

Melissa Iwai was checking the storm on her iphone. Her book “Soup day” is super cute!

I got to talk to Audrey Vernick. Her book “Is Your Buffalo Ready for Kindergarten?” is woulderfully silly!

I went over and visited with the amazing Fran Manushkin, who’s Katie Woo books are great and her “the Tushy book” is a delight!

Even though it rained, I sold out of all my books! That is my last copy of “Are you Eating something red?” and i also sold out of “Zoe and Robot – Let’s Pretend!” the Robot hat worked!

After the festival Margery Cuyler had us all over to her 1860′s house for a party. An amazing way to end a wonderful day! Thanks Princeton library, it was fantastic!

Ryan Sias drawing Zoe and Robot for ALA!

This is a video I made! To get my table at ALA, I needed to donate a piece of art! So I drew this new Zoe and Robot page for ALA! So you can see my process! Enjoy!
